I quickly got up and took the call outside.
After about five minutes I returned to the table.
He could see disappointment on my face.
“What’s wrong?’
I told him that I had just got my pub date for the book, and it was all the way out to November.
“I don’t want to wait,” I said. “I want to publish sooner.”
“You’re only a virgin once,” he said.
And it all clicked. This was my first ever published book. I should enjoy as much of the process as I can.
That moment reminded me that this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Patience isn't just about waiting—it's about embracing and cherishing every step of a journey that, once passed, becomes a cherished memory.
