Sometimes, success comes down to a little bit of luck and being in the right place at the right time. For Marquis Jet, that lucky moment came when my partner's friend, a junior producer on a new reality TV show, approached us to feature our company on their show. At the time, we had no idea what the show was or how it would perform. All we knew was that it was on NBC.
Taking a chance, we agreed to film our segment before the show even aired. When it finally did, it turned out to be The Apprentice, and our segment was featured in the second episode ever. To our amazement, 20 million people tuned in, making it the biggest infomercial in the world for us.
That was pretty lucky.
What I learned was that luck often comes from a combination of hard work, relationships, and being ready to seize opportunities when they arise. If we hadn't been actively promoting our company and building relationships, we would probably never have caught the attention of The Apprentice producers.
So, keep putting yourself out there, build those relationships, and be ready to jump when luck comes knocking. You never know when your Marquis Jet moment will arrive.
